Pure Aluminum Strip VS Aluminum Alloy Strip
Pure aluminum strip usually refers to 1xxx aluminum strip. The common alloys are 1060, 1050, 1070 and 1100. Due to the mature technology, it is widely used in wall decoration, kitchen sinks, lamp holders, fan blades, electronic parts, chemical equipment, name plate, transformer winding, etc.
Aluminum alloy strip is to add various elements during the forging process. In this way, the mechanical properties of the aluminum strips can be provided by the addition of other elements. The common alloy elements are copper, silicon, zinc, manganese, nickel, iron, titanium, chromium, lithium, etc. That helps greatly expand the application scope of aluminum strips.
Density
The density of the 1 series aluminum strip is usually about 2.71. The aluminum alloy strip such as 3003, 5052 and 6061 aluminum strips have a higher density than pure aluminum because they all add other elements to increase the original hardness. That is to say, pure aluminum strip has lighter n specific gravity.
Corrosion resistance
Although aluminum alloy strip has a higher specific weight than pure aluminum, its corrosion resistance is also better. For example, there is a large demand for anti-rust aluminum strip like 3003 aluminum strip. Among the alloying elements, manganese accounts for about 1-1.5. For the outdoor application requiring acid and corrosion resistant, 3003 aluminum strip is more popular.
Hardness
Since the aluminum alloy strip has higher hardness than 1xxx aluminum strip, 1xxx pure aluminum strip is more suitable for stretching, stamping, or punching. The aluminum alloy strips are often used in mold manufacturing, shipbuilding, shutter, etc.
